Everyone gets offended, so sometimes its best to keep our opinions to oursleves.
But the word disability means Not able and when one is diagnosed with autism, they genreally are unable to do certain task or behave in a neurotypical way.
So it actually a disability and many claim disability benefits due to their lack of ability to work.
The problem is the specrtrum is huge. '
Some people with the label simply have communication quirks, while others are institutionalized, non verbal and self injurious.
I really wish we could just eliminate the darn term. People have no clue about the scope of the diagnosis. They see thermselves and view the world from thier own experiences,
I can tell you stories of adults wearing diapers, who stim, bash their heads against the walls, have severe outbursts, etc.
You dont see those people and neither do the ones who say autism is not a disability.
